Astonishing. How technical mandatory rules can be reshaped in glamorous beauty. It is a must see of visiting Liege.

A must when you're travelling into Liège. A new station, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, was inaugurated on 18 September 2009.

Looks weird with stupid cantilevers at each corner and is cold since it is wide open. Access to the station is not obvious from the tracks. Very small amount of tracks and shops/services under such a pretentious roof.

This station cost €300 million to build, and its only purpose seems to be to provide a nice view for the passengers of the trains passing through. Unfortunately the Belgian railways are one of the worst in Europe in terms of time accuracy, so one inevitably spends more time in its stations than in its trains. Spending time at the... More

a typical Calatrava master piece, fascinatingly beautiful, a photographers delight! the symmetrical, airy design makes this train station into an open welcoming place. whatever it costed to build, it is worth every penny!

Magnificent architecture which is a must see. It is not in the city centre and a bit of a walk. We drove there on the way out of town and found that there was free limited time parking.

Loved this building ! Wouldn't say it was one of the great sights of the world but it is definitely worth a look if you are in Liege There were some Dhali sculptures there on display when we visited which just made it that much better !

Thank James H
