Cherry Blossom season and Autumn is the most-see time. You better check Hasselt city hall website to see in advance if there festival happening at that time.

The Japanese garden in Hasselt is a personal favorite of mine. I visit it at least once every year. If you plan a visit, I really recommend you go in early April to catch the magnificent view of the blooming sakura trees (cherry blossom). Keep an eye out on the gardens Facebook page to addend one of the many special... More

Beautiful place to stroll around in for an hour or so. But make sure you go in spring or summer of course (Belgian climate does not sport blooming plants or flowers in spring or winter :-)). Get a little taste of Japan miles and miles away from Japan.

The Japanese garden in Hasselt is a place of peace and tranquility. A place where your soul will be one with nature.

Nothing so exciting to look at besides the overfed fishes. It's probably a place to go during blooming season, we went in Autumn and there was nothing really going on.

Visited the garden twice and it is getting better every year as it matures. Lovely place for a stroll in autumn or spring. A little taste of Japanese nature..

I have visited the Japanese Garden, unfortunately not for pleasure but as part of a crew but the feeling is the same. It is always charming being there. The amount of care and effort is being put on keeping the environment clean and radiant is remarkable. It is always a pleasure to come back. Every year there are more activities... More

Great place to visit, very calm and attractive marvelous fish in the pool. BUT check opening times - it is not open in the mornings and may be closed other times

Although the Japanese Garden in Hasselt is the largest Japanese garden in Europe it is a relatively small garden and when taking your time, you can walk through garden in a hour. It is a beautiful garden though, both in spring time when cherry trees blossom and in the autumn when there is beautiful foliage. The garden is open all... More
