Excellent interactive displays and history are well told. We were told about the Doudou festival the previous evening in a restaurant by its patron who advised we attend and we were really happy to have been given this information
The museum is a hidden gem. Tucked away past the gardens of the Grand Plac. The whole family enjoyed the museum with its interactive displays and colourful history. It is reasonably priced and enjoyed by our whole family.

Having experienced the Dou Dou on more than one occasion I found this museum to give an excellent description of the history and rituals associated with this UNESCO recognized event. Exhibits are trip-lingual and interactive making this the perfect museum of the whole family.
I was afraid that this museum would be just for children, but it was not. There are quite a few historic items related to St. Waltrudis (or Waudru) and also to St. George. The dragon's head (of a crocodile) stands out as something special. There...More

We hope you have enjoyed the museum. Don't hesitate to come back and don't forget that there are two others world heritages in Mons : The Belfry in Mons and the Neolithic Flint Mines at Spiennes.
This is a fun and interactive museum for kids and adults.
You get to the museum from the town square/ Grand Place through a door in the middle of the town hall (by the ceremonyroom for marriages) , through a tunnellike thingy and through the...More
Nice historic background of Mons. Audiotour available in multiple languages. Dutch audiotour was helpfull.
Nice interactive games for younger visitors and me.
Great to visit with children who likes dragons.
The modern approach to artistically present the history of Mons was clever and enjoyable. It was stimulating and interactive. Older children would like this type of presentation. There was a balanced combination of historical and modern items. It wasn't very helpful in terms of English...More
By luck we were there for free entry day. This is a good museum to educate people about a wonderful tradition of this town. Colorful and fun. Was sad that we would not be there for the actual festival. Missed it by a few weekends....More
