Worth visiting if you have the time

Square Ambiorix is a public square and park in the Quartier des Squares district of Brussels. The park is well tended and has been design in the french style with a regular and rectangular shaped interspersed with paths laid out in geometric patterns over the well kept lawns, flower beds, fountains, sculptures and a playground.

The area is a well to do district and there are many fine buildings around the park, especially to the north and east. For Art Nouveau fans, there are mainly fine building built in this style including the Villa Germaine and Maison Saint-Cyr.

The park is away from the main tourist circuit in Brussels, but worth visiting if you have the time.

A lovely square surrounded by beautiful houses
Jun. 2019 • Friends
Square Ambiorix itself is a series of well- landscaped 19th century spaces with sculptures and fountains, around which elegant houses were built in a variety of styles at the end of the 19th century.

Don't miss one of the most exuberant examples of Art Nouveau in Brussels - the Saint-Cyr House with its curving swirling ironwork on a house only 4m wide.

The house was built between 1900 and 1903 in Square Ambiorix as the home of artist and decorator Léonard de Saint-Cyr. It was designed by Brussels architect Gustave Strauwen, who was a student of the legendary Victor Horta, when he was only 21 years old.

There are other architecturally-interesting houses nearby one by Victor Horta himself, currently under refurbishment, the Van Eetvelde Townhouse dating from 1895 in the street named after Lord Palmerston who lived in the area.

A great place to stroll and enjoy the gardens and the architecture.

Lungs of Schuman area

Ambriorix square is a nice area of Brussels. Many EU people live in this area. The park in the middle adds to the attraction. It is lovely with a large fountain and a big children's playground. Nice to meet friends, nice to take your dog for a walk or stroll with your partner or friends. Worth a visit!

Lovely Park with great fountains
Jul. 2015 • Couples
This park has some great fountains and statues with a artificial stream that leads down to a large lake.

It also has a playground for kids and facilities for dogs. The large lake at the bottom has lots of ducks and other birds so great for kids and bread, not so great for dogs!

Its very beautiful and great for a couple walk or to just relax in the sun.
