Passed this building just at the weekend - deliberately went out of my way to visit it. It's beginning to look very sad and neglected: grills over the windows, glass smashed, disgusting steel anti-vandal door. Stand back (way back!) and it's still beautiful but why is this not being looked after by some cultural heritage organisation - where's all those... More

I was staying in a hotel near the Square ambiorix and one afternoon I went for a stroll towards the gardens and street area around the hotel and found this lovely Art Nouveau building along the side of the park. It is a bit out of the city in the upper town but if you are in the area it's... More

Maison Saint Cyr, designed by Gustave Strauven in 1900, boasts perhaps the most extravagant art nouveau facade in Brussels. Set on a beautiful square, Maison Saint Cyr is rewarding---even though you can only view it from the outside. If you're in the area around all the EU buildings it's worth taking a detour to Square Ambiorix to see this wonderful Art Nouveau dwelling. You can't go inside, but the exterior is quite enough!

This wonderful small house on the Square Amborix is worth wandering past as you enjoy the square - part of the art nouveau walk. It is my favourite art nouveau building because of its ornate exterior, and small size. It was recently for sale.
