Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum has so much to offer.
There's a huge yard full of old industrial equipment. The ground floor of the museum shows off many industrial machines, they have a folder in English so you can read along and find out all about the items in display.
Upstairs there's a large exhibition on water conservation, but unfortunately this is not available in English. It does look very interesting though, so I wish they'd offer English documentation as well.
It's beautifully kept and staff are amazingly nice as well.

Nestled in the Molenbeek area of Brussels that came under such close scrutiny towards the end of 2015, this monument to the industrial past of Brussels was the hidden wonder, and unexpected find of our stay in the area.

Two hours walking around the various exhibits here passed in the mere blink of an eye, as we were given an insight into a period of Brussellian history which we frankly, never knew existed.

A treat for the creative, the historical and those who see the most beauty in the marriage of both. Visit it!

This museum is a little gem. It is built inside the remnants of a great foundry. Besides the usual museum items such as maps, photographs and explanations, it also displays lots of amazing machines from the steam age. We are shown how Brussels was transformed from the medieval town it still was around 1800, into a blossoming center of heavy industry, and why those industries mostly disappeared from the city in the modern age.
All of this for a ridiculously cheap entry fee (I payed five euro, without any discounts).
If you have any interest in modern history or steam power, you have to see this.

Crossing the canal to a side of Brussels not often visited is an interesting museum about Belgian Industry. The museum is located on the site of a famous foundry that casted many famous statues, The ruins make for a wonderful location. The museum is small and concise with interactive. Upstairs is an art exhibition that makes the museum more then a science museum. If you like to go off the beaten trail then this is a little treasure waiting for you to find.

One of my best memory of Brussels, located in the infamous area of Molenbeek. A great museum with just the right type of information, a nice welcome, an extraordinary site, ... Why aren't there more people visiting this jewell?

This hidden gem - a short walk from the Compte de Flandre Metro stop - is well worth a couple of hours of your time. Especially if you like history. Here is the story of Brussels as a manufacturing hub, a sort of Belgian Birmingham, especially in the 19th through mid-20th centuries. Great exhibits, good use of audiovisuals, and temporary exhibits on the same theme. Thanks to the good people of La Fonderie, who organize great tours of Brussels' industrial heritage. Should be higher than #232 on Trip Advisor!
