Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What amateurism! After missing the time slot due to a traffic jam, we had to wait half an hour in the pouring rain. No information, no clue except a sour policewoman. We stood at the gate and then suddenly had to go back across the street to join the queue, so we were at the back of the queue. The result is that we drove back home. See you never….

This place is only open shortly in Spring. The dates are published each year, but are not so easy to find, look at the internet. Don't forget that this is a private property of the King and thus a decent behaviour is expected. An astonishing variety of flowers is on display. The glasshouses themselves are also interesting by themselves.

A must see when in Brussels! (and when they open, because it's not open the whole year round! So you might want to check the website first)

Unfortunately only open for visits yearly end of April, early May, these royal greenhouses are truly magnificent. What is most amazing: the collection of flowers and exotic plants and trees or the architecture?
We prefer the "nocturnes" (late night visits), when the beauty of the greenhouses gets even more accentuated.

We spent a sorry day making our way to this sight which stated online that it was open. The bus dropped us off with several other and we walked for ages trying to find a way in.This apparently happens on a daily basis which is really quit appalling !!

I came to visit it by chance. The greenhouses are open only for few weeks in the spring. I was passing by and saw the palace's doors opened largely, so I decided to go alongside the crowd. I spent there more than 2 hours. The itinerary is quite linear, outside in the garden and inside the greenhouse, and I had the chance to see very interesting types of flowers, plants, trees, etc.

Once a year the Royal greenhouse is opended ofr the public during 2 weeks. For a few euros you can visit the property following a guided path trough the property. A unique visit at a unique location. Get on the internet for the opening hours, best to visit during the week, I personally go there around noon to avoid the masses. On mondays closed to replace the flowers that are dead.

These greenhouses are only open in a few weeks in spring, usually around mid-April and mid-May, depending on the weather conditions. So make sure that you have planned your visit to Brussels accordingly. I don't recommend you to walk after the Metro station as it is a long way, and you wouldn't want to be tired during your visit (as I was), instead, take the bus 53 from the metro station. The greenhouses are really impressive, not only in terms of the plants they contain, with amazing azaleas, palms and various others, but also in terms of architectural design. The glass domes, built in the 19th century, are magnificent, reflecting the technological and material advancements of the ages that they have been built.

Visit of Royal Greenhouses of the Royal Palace. Accessible days during 2 weeks annually, 2.50€ per adult, < 18 free and group prices available. There are some evening openings as well. One hour to walk through and photograph the Art Deco enclosed heated "neoclassical rotundas" greenhouses + the grounds behind the Royal Family's castle; north of downtown Brussels in a huge expanse of perfectly manicured park (20 full time gardeners tend to them). Small gift shop @ the Orangerie at the exit/entrance. Ramps for disabled but many stairs in greenhouses if you care to see everything. Species well labelled, perfectly kept up. Easy to get to by transport. Lots of parking just opposite castle's main entrance gates. On same 6 acres grounds are a Japanese pagoda tower and a small Chinese World's Fair construction. Nice day out!
