We enjoyed this museum as it has a nice English summary in multiple rooms aboit Belgium history. We were also given an English Guide to help identify the objects in each room. There were also multiple items in each room to touch & feel. We were the only people in the museum which made it very pleasant. We enjoyed our... More

The musuem is beautifully located right next to the palace and houses in a well kept, historic building. With a (low) entree fee of €6 (free if you are under 18), the musuem is also good for a quick visit when you are on a tight schedule. Personally, I found the first part (the first 2 area's) the most interesting,... More

We came here after visiting Coudenberg, and we found it to be a nice museum. It was very pictorial and the guide given at the start helped to summarise everything.

This museum is dedicated to the history of Belgium and the royal family. Maybe you could think that the topic is not so relevant, but you have to think also about this: this country is less than 185 years old, its story is not rich of colossal events, but it survived two horrible World Wars, a long and violent Nazi... The museum is on two stories and provides the history of Belgium from Waterloo to today. There is enough english write ups to be able to follow the story. There is an elevator. The archeological site, Coudenberg, is located under the Museum and the adjacent road and park. Its quite a maze down there and the exits signs were confusing... More

The museum was perhaps a bit too obsessed with its royal family but besides that it was awesome! I learned so much about Belgium's history; from its birth as a country to it's role in African colonization (and exploitation), WWI and WWII. There was so much information that towards the end I was having to just skim through the info... More

Before you visit this museum and the attached Coudenberg, visit the tourist Info center around the corner. The Info center has a free museum of its own which discusses the history of Belgium and Brussels in particular. With this context, the BELvue museum will help to broaden your understanding of Belgian history and royals' place in it. The BELvue has... More

This is quite an interesting museum despite its obsession with the Belgian royal family..reasonably well laid out.I do wish they would put the English tr translations in an easier place to read..

The Belvue Museum is an ingenious one: it tells the utterly compelling history of Belgium as an independent state alongside the story of its kings and queens. You quickly lose track of time as you read the detailed brochure (available for English speakers) that explains every item and image on display and learn more about the many ups and downs... More
