Beautiful!

I discovered the Guildhouses during a free walking tour by Viva. The history is very interesting plus they are beautiful buildings.

I haven't been inside (and I don't know if you can go,but I would be interested), but from the outside the buildings are amazing, very beautifully decorated with golden ornamentation and they look really lovely at night.

Beautiful architecture, but other than a quick stop to look at them, little else that can be said about them.

This is a line of narrow houses. Each one is different, decorated, real masterpiece. We forget them because of the huge Town house and impressive Maison du Roi. It is wrong. We need to turn to these interesting houses and look at them very carefully. They are essential part of the square.

The Guildhouses were historical buildings with long stories behind. Currently, the old buildings including carvings, coat of arms and other decorations were all worth to see in depth while visiting the Grand Place in Brussels. A very nice Square to visit and worth to spend more time to stroll around the area. Highly recommended.

These imposing guild houses display classic sculpturing, relief and burnished giltwork. This is truly eye candy, and a highlight of the Grand Place. Even if one contains a Starbucks.

These houses remind us of the Guilds of Brussels which were grouped into Nine Nations of Brussels. The guilds in Brussels, and throughout Belgium, were suppressed in 1795, during the French occupation. The belongings of the Brussels guilds were sold at public auction on the Grand Place in 1796.

Visit the Grand Place day and night and you will always be amazed by its majestic splendour. See the architectural beauty of the different Guildhalls and don't forget Le Pigeon where Victor Hugo stayed while in exile.

The Guildhouses along with the Town Hall make a great square. These are an absolute must see in Burssels. The restaurants in the square can be a bit pricey. So be prepared.
