Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While there is much that you can learn from books and indeed the Internet, to really feel and understand what Europe is about, how it functions and what it does (and indeed how important it is), you have to be here and see it for yourself. That then is exactly what I did - I spent the whole day here exploring not only the buildings themselves which are open to the public but exploring the whole area. It is easy to get here by metro or indeed on foot - a bit of a walk from downtown but well worth it to see the different buildings and of course the flags everywhere you look, not to mention the murals on the sides of the buildings. Such a shame that we left.

I would say this place is worth a visit in Brussels. No admission fee. It's not spectacular, but it's quite nice. Interactive and detailed information about the history of EU presented very well in an interesting way.

This one is easy to review because we stay here now. But if you are in Brussels on a visit we suggest you come and stay here. Reasons? Well, first, you have a budget hotel (Aloft) and a luxury hotel (Sofitel) so you can choose. The Parc Cinquantinaire with its fabulous museums is about a ten minute walk, the Parc Leopold (right now is Cherry blossom time) is beautiful in any season, some of the finest restaurants are all within walking distance ( and what a variety of cuisine - vietnamese, mediterranean, turkish, chinese, spanish, greek, irish and so on) and also some good shopping. Sundays you have a local market at Place Jourdan (where you have the best place to have pomme fritte in all Belgium - the Maison Antoinette) and you can enjoy a beer sitting out in the sun at one of the many cafes and watch the world go by.
Of course, you can also photograph yourself against the EU buildings. Well, many people do!
Lastly, public transport wise, this is one of the best connected places in Brussels.

There really is nothing to see or do here. It's just offices.

my husband and I spend a day at the EU Parliament, House of European History and EU Parliamentrium, learnt a lot about EU and Europe, that's not something one could just learn from watching TV or read books, you've got to be there.

The European Quarter in Brussels is the area where most if not all the buildings, offices of the European Union are located. They are quite huge! We visited several, and some of the most impressive we found to be the Parliament, the Parlamentarium and the House of European History. Really amazing! Some of the other buildings could not be visited as they are closed to the public, like the Berlaymont (the seat of the European Commission). The visits are quite useful as they provide a very good opportunity for people to learn just about everything about the European Union.

The area was clustered with many modern buildings where EU Quarter hosted all the main institutions here. If you want to study more or stroll around to take more photos you required, you should stay one night in the hotel nearby otherwise it would not be possible for you to view the whole EU Quarter at the same time.

Whenever i am in Brussels i stay at an Hotel across the Street from here.

The whole compound is a good place to visit, see and tour; imposing building and good architecture

On Mondays to Fridays this is a busy area and not good for sightseeing. Much better on the weekend when the Eurocrats travel home and the whole compound is tranquil.

Usually as on this occasion i take a walk early in the morning on Saturday at about 6.30am, brisk walk and 'me' time.

It's very modern and ordinary - some buildings are better than others but generally it's just a large office complex
