This is not a museum in the traditional sense: the museum itself is actually the house that Victor Horta built for himself in the late 1890s, which truly exemplifies the Art Nouveau style that made Horta into one of the most acclaimed architects in...more

Well laid-out, useful explanations, good guide, worth a visit. Try to combine it with several other Art Nouveau once-a-year visits (usually on a spring weekend) to other worthy Art Nouveau private houses and buildings with the BANAD Pass (2 days, 6 to 8 visits) -...More

If you have any interest in architecture, this is a must. It is a simple, small museum, but the interiors are amazing. The epitome of art nouveux! No cameras or phones allowed. Lockers are provided for your bags and belongings.

This museum opens at 14:00 - we arrived about 13:50 and there was a queue outside. There are some restrictions to be aware of - you can't take bags in or cameras or smart phones. Lockers are provided (€1 refundable) but this means that they...More

The most beautiful art nouveau building that I have been in. The house is beautiful and walking around it is amazing. You are not allowed to take photos and I think that is a good thing as it would make it more difficult to walk...More

An absolute must for architects, artists, designers of all kinds and art lovers of the art nouveux period. Not so interesting for the layman, perhaps. The museum staff are a little too full of themselves, rather, but you can live with that if you love...More

This breathtakingly beautiful house wowed at every turn and step. The colours, light and amazing Horta design details were a complete delight. We had a little trouble finding it after alighting the Hoho bus but arrived just before opening to a queue of 4 and...More

You have to make a special effort to head out to the Musee Horta, and if you're a big art nouveau fan it's worth it. Biggest disappointment was the price (when compared to other museums we'd been to for the same price) - especially when...More

For me this was less about the adulation of the architect Horta and more about absorbing how he was able to transform a place into somewhere for living and working using his principles. The top floor of his house is particularly special but whether you...More

Sorry for the delay, but hopefully this helps others. Definitely early in the morning, and you're right the queue can become long. Also, if you really like architecture, an hour is short to spend in the home. But you can... More
