Worth the trip out of the centre
Some odd reviews here where I can only assume visitors didn't make the most of their trip. The surrounding area is a little uninspiring but the Atomium itself is impressive from the outside. €15 felt slightly steep initially but once inside it's probably right. At the top there is a bar and restaurant with some great views then on the way back down there are some light shows and history on the structure. We were there almost two hours, worth the tram ride out.

    Highly Recommend Atomium
Fantastic Tourist attraction with great lighting inside the atomium structure. You can repeat the tour at a certain level of you want to experience those wonderful lights again. The experience can be over pretty quickly within 45mins.

Going inside is okay, but seeing the outside is a must!
My title says it all. If all you do is see this from the outside, great. Take lots of pictures as this is as great as the Eiffel Tower of Brussels gets. Here is what I think from going inside. Firstly, get your ticket online, as the on-site ticket line is long. There are three experiences your ticket covers. First is going into four of the spheres by escalator and stairs. Second is taking an elevator straight to the highest sphere lookout level. Third is an offsite design museum. There is a restaurant in the top sphere that requires a reservation far in advance. Kinda difficult if you do not know your schedule. For the first part, the first sphere gives the background of the World’s Fair and the Atomium structure. The other three spheres have a light show called “I Have Seen the Future.” It is cool, but I could have done without. The second part to the highest lookout point was not even outside. It was not as spectacular as you just look out windows. We skipped the design museum. This is a tourist trap. It is nice to see. I do not need to go inside twice. Bathrooms: there is a paid bathroom in the ticket office building. The first part has NO bathrooms. The second part has a free bathroom at the top.

    Worth the journey
Though Atomium is about an hour away from the main city centre of Brussels, it is definitely worth the excursion. Never in my life have I seen a piece of architecture like it. It's large and imposing and filled with plenty of areas to explore for those that wish to go inside. There is also a cafe located right next to it and lots of parking spaces.

    Large monument
The Atomium is quite far off the beaten path from central Brussels. However, you can take a 20-minute metro from the centre to get there. I think this is truly iconic from Brussels and a nice piece of architectural art. I would recommend seeing this, especially on a clear day. We decided to not go up it, but I believe it is an option.

    Interesting to visit
Imposing structure when close up. Good panoramic views from the top which is where the lift takes you to initially. There’s a restaurant up a flight of stairs that only serve a three course menu option however you can have a hot/soft drink or cocktail on tall stools looking out at the view by walking through the restaurant. Access to the other spheres once you’ve descended in the lift is via various escalators and flights of stairs. The exhibits telling the story of the Atomium are OK, light and music effects good. Interesting place to visit for 1-2 hours. We travelled from Gare du MIDI via subway to Heyshel-the tickets cost the same no matter the distance travelled and run very frequently.

    Excellent Attraction
We spent a morning there and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The attraction is well run, with friendly and helpful staff. The views are excellent and it wasn’t too busy inside the pods. The displays are interesting and the light show was spectacular. The escalator light shows were fantastic. It isn’t too far outside of Brussels and the Design Museum close by is also worth a visit.

The chances of anything coming from Mars..
Wow! It's like something out of war of the worlds as you turn a corner and see it standing there! Inside was filled with interesting facts on the atomium and its formation. The photos of it in its youth, and of other structures made for previous conferences across the globe. The different rooms across the structure hold light art exhibitions that either mesmerise you.. baffle you, or wonderfully send you to sleep in a calm serenity. I came out very happy with my visit, and felt I got good value for money. We took the tube from Brussels and it came out about a 5 minute walk from the entrance. I definitely recommend it!

Iconic building as a must see
Ever since I was a young child, I always wanted to visit this iconic building. It didn't disappoint. Stunning building. Fantastic views. The displays were interesting and informative and the light/music shows were mesmeric.

More impressive from the outside - worth visiting once
We were more impressed with the outside of the Atomium; the design and magnitude of the structure were impressive! The inside wasn’t as good as we had expected and visitors can’t access all spheres which made it limited. We did enjoy the light shows but there wasn’t as much information as we’d have thought. We had to queue for around 15 minutes to get the elevator up to the top sphere. The views from here weren’t much better than what you could see in one of the lower spheres as part of the tour. No soap in ladies’ toilets - not acceptable nowadays in terms of hygiene and shows lack of attention to detail/cleanliness. Shop was okay, but quite expensive (€7.50 for a small magnet). Would recommend pre-booking tickets to the Atomium to avoid a long queue to get in - we had booked in advance and got straight in. We also saved some money on admission by booking a joint ticket combining the Atomium and Mini Europe, which was worth doing as it saved several Euros per person.

We visited Brussels for the day so didn’t have unlimited time to spend at attractions. We arrived at 11am and there weren’t any queues for tickets which was good. After paying €16 for the Atomium, we entered the lift to go up to the viewing platform. Okish views but nothing to write home about. Pretty underwhelming to be honest. We could see Mini Europe from the platform and we were glad that we didn’t spend more money for a joint ticket to both places. After spending barely 15 minutes on the platform (our choice), we came back down in the lift. We then had the option to view the exhibitions but we skipped these altogether, choosing to make our way into the city centre for the rest of the day.

I had bought skip the queue tickets ... don't bother they don't allow you to skip anything. We had to join the queue outside for about 30 mins then the real fun started and we joined a huge 'snaking' queue inside where we patiently stood for over an hour to go in a lift to the top floor , admittedly the view is great but guys you have to be able to organise it a bit better ;let fit people take the stairs or allow a few to go to the museum first to alleviate the massive queues.

It's quite amusing that a few reviews mention a fear of heights not being a barrier to this amazing attraction, it's very true! The iconic Atomium is an imposing sight - you can just about spot it from certain viewpoints in central Brussels but nothing prepares you for how big this is when you first approach it on the bus or taxi. We got entry as part of the Brussels Experience ticket (which is worth its weight in gold, allowing you entry to quite a few attractions including the nearby Mini Europe - which is surprisingly not as tacky as it looks).

I would strongly recommend getting to the Atomium as early as you can to avoid the choking queues. I'd also recommend doing the 'high bits' first before working your way around the lower levels, as you have a long snaking queue for the lifts up to the highest points (which offer stunning views across Brussels and the Heysel area).

Inside you'll find all sorts of exhibits and information about the Atomium and the festival which it was part of. I would offer a strong warning that if you have any epilepsy sufferers in your party that you avoid the lower levels entirely, as there's a lot of flashing lights - and no warnings, so if flickering lights are a trigger for you, you're better off avoiding it altogether).

It's quite a strange building (obviously) so be prepared to take quite a winding route through the insides of this amazing installation, with escalators and staircases for the lower routes, and an express lift to the top.

Probably one of the best places for photo opportunities in the whole of Brussels. If you're going here on the Toots tourist bus, be prepared for a bit of a weight but it's a very good way to see it (again with the Brussels pass you get to use the bus too so again it's well worth the spend as entry prices are pretty expensive!)

Didn't visit the cafe but it was very busy, there's not much else around in terms of restaurants / amenities but there are plenty of loos around thankfully!

I worked in Brussels in 1979 and returned there at various times in the 1980's and was always disappointed that you could not enter the Atomium and merely observe it from the outside. I now know why having re-visited recently (the place was closed for safety reasons).

Made it inside this time and visited all the exhibitions including the top sphere which provides brilliant 360 degree views across Brussels and beyond.

The adjacent Design Museum is worth a visit too.

Recommend you pre-book online and get there for the 10am opening time to avoid the queues and the tour groups.

I was amazed to find out that this futuristic structure was constructed for the World Expo in 1958. Its unique modernism architectural design will make you gasp as soon as you get a glimpse of this gigantic replica of an atom. For €16 you can venture into its “particles” via escalators and stairs. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions on display. The top particle is a viewing deck that gives you a 360 degree panorama over Brussels. We came in the middle of the afternoon on a sunny winter day which was ideal because the crowds were leaner and the sunlight provided good lighting for our momentous photos.

The Atomium is pretty cool, an interesting place to visit. Entry is €16 for an adult which I think was a bit pricey because we were only there an hour. But it is unique, the weather doesn’t matter and it’s well presented. If you’re on a budget I still recommend going to see it!

I recommend you to just go for visiting the fecade and take some photos...by paying 15 EUR and going inside, you will find nothing!..just in one of the places u will find a window to look the landscape and there is not more! But if you r student and you wanna vist it, i recommend to grab your student card and use the discount.

World’s Fair leftover that is mainly a science and art museum. When we entered we were ushered up stairs (lots of stairs to climb so be prepared) because we spoke English. It is an interesting structure but if you want to get great views you need to take elevator up to the 7th sphere or the restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant closes from 3-7 so plan your trip with that in mind. We got there too close to 3 and didn’t want to wait until it opened up. The line for the viewing platform was long and we were hungry so didn’t wait. The view from the spheres that we did go in was average and, unfortunately, obstructed by the massive support beams.
This site is also a good 25-30 minute metro ride from town and there is nothing else to see there.
I think this would have been a better experience had we gone earlier in the day and planned it out better.

One of the top spots for tourists. The entrance fee is 16 EUR which includes the visit to the ADAM exhibition center as well. I was lucky to catch the punk rock exhibition on 9th Feb 2020. The visit inside the Atomium can be skipped in my opinion as I felt it was a bit overpriced.

This is an incredible building, unlike any other. The lift to the top is exciting as you move quickly to the highest ball in a lift with a glass ceiling, you must look up, it's brilliant! The views from the top are amazing! You then go back down to the ground with the freedom to explore the rest of the building using stairs and escalators. The escalators which go between the balls are exciting too! You had to queue for tickets with only 1 person serving and then queue again for the lift which was a bit frustrating. They also charged my 11 year old the child's entrance fee because of his height which seemed to he quite a random way to charge, my children can't help being tall! It was nearly €50 for a family of 4 which is expensive for a an hour and 3/4 experience. But it is impressive!
