The St. Niklaas church is one of the oldest churches in Brussels. I was surprised to find a shrine inside, with the relics of the martyrs of Gorkum. There are some nice altars and altar pieces too. And I found a wall painting (fresco) quite intriguing, although I didn't see a description of it.

ST NICHOLAS CHURCH is a wonderful Church that is located in a wonderful area of Brussels. The church has a quite modern exterior but in fact there has been a church on this site for 100's of years. The interior is superb with nice reliefs and details and the alter looks awesome as do the fantastic looking windows. It's free... More

When visiting Brussels, you will surely pass this central church. Do pop in because it's free and the windows are gorgeous.

This isn't quite as grand as some of the other churches and cathedrals around Brussels, but it's still very beautiful. Worth a look around and inside there are a couple of things you won't see in other churches, like a little miniature nativity type scene.

Located between the Grote Markt and the Place de la Bourse...I visited it on a Sunday during Mass. Nice nativity scene at the rear of the church. Definitely worth a visit.

After visiting Saint Michael's Cathedral, Notre Dame du Sablon and Notre Dame de a Chappelle this one was a bit of a let down. But is is very conveniently located right off the Grande Place, so stop in. There is some nice architecture and art works inside worth viewing.

The easy access to St. Nicholas Church makes it almost impossible for you to miss it! Glorious like pretty much everything else in the Grand Place! During the night the lights can guarantee you amazing pictures!
