So for sure a niche market as many may be bored, but we found interesting, thought provoking and in a gorgeous building. Staff lovely too.

This most beautiful house of the early 1500's is well kept. I visited the museum as a kid several times, and was always impressed by the technology and humanism of the people 500 years ago, and now, as an aging citizen, I still am. Regarding a smart phone as the next important invention since the printing business, I hope technology... More

This is another house and place of work to wander round, and be fascinated by. The Plantins started the business 400 years ago, then you see the portraits of the eight generations who kept prining. The house is enormous, and there are lots of amazing bits of technology from many years ago.

At first the topic might sound boring to you, but once you step in the museum you get drawn into the book printing history, so closely associated with the Plantin's family history. A must see in Antwerp!

The museum concerns with the early era of printing, including the old instruments used to print books back in the 16 century. Settled in a beautiful medieval house, you get to see the beginning of the the scientific revolution . Very interesting and... More

Title says it all. Most of the museum is upstairs and there is no disabled or pram access. We have found Antwerp overall very difficult to visit with a young child. Many cities cater for this far far better than Antwerp.

If you are fond of classical literature, Renaissance, early modern European science and the like, this museum will be very helpful for you, as it establishes the links between personalities that normally occupy different shelves of your brain / parts in your curriculum. It is stylishly presented, although the order of presentation is problematic: some things that you'd better know... More
