If you only have time to visit one historical house or museum in Antwerp I would recommend the Snijdesr and Rockox House. The house and collection are beautiful with an excellent screening room with comfy sofas showing short films about both Snijders and and Rockox...More

The museum is small and nice but you can totally skip it if your time is limited. At some point it feels a little repetitive

The museum offers a rather intimate view into the art and lives of the upper class in the baroque period. The original housing still breaths the atmosphere of these days. The paintings are top class works and show the themes that were important to the...More

Small enough that you don't lose the will to live. Large enough to be worthwhile. It tells a real story of the art going on in the time of Rubens (and there were others!) plus something of the rich musical life of the period. Wouldn't...More

This small museum is absolutely beautiful. One is given an iPad which has photos as well as detailed description of all the artworks. It is so informative. I learned a lot about the artworks and the styles.

A beautiful, calm gallery in the original 17th century house of a famous Antwerp art collector. It's in the side streets near the city centre but felt quiet and relaxed. They lend visitors a fantastic i-Pad that can automatically recognise the picture at which it...More
