Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I didn’t go inside, but I took photos with my Nikon P1000 from the outside when I visited The Hague in August 2023. I enjoyed my day in the city, lots of interesting places to see.

Den Haag's Great Church is a prominent and encompassing presence in the Dutch city. Unfortunately it is not open during our time of visit.

I saw the church exterior on Saturday once it had closed. A sign said the church was open to the public at 12:00 on Sunday. I therefore went back to see it before heading home to the UK. A group was practising for an imminent concert and I was asked to leave before I got to see the alter and apse from inside. I'd only have taken a moment but the poor chap who asked me to leave had already been reprimanded by the music players for letting people in while they practised.
I wonder if I'll ever be back in The Hague - possibly not. I've visited many 100s of medieval churches in UK and the continent. It's always very disappointing when you can't get inside - I've seldom been so close, only to fail!
I wish we could all be a bit kinder. Generally speaking the good folk of The Hague have seemed exceptionally courteous and friendly during my short stay. (I hope the players were not from UK 🙃.)
The church exterior is fab. Here's hoping readers of this have better luck than I. If so, please post a photo.

This was a great way or spend 90 minutes in The Hague. Our tour guide was friendly and very informative. We climbed the 288 stairs up the tower stopping to see the bells and the carillon. The view from the top was very impressive. I would highly recommend this tour and church if you are in The Hague over the weekend.

The knowledge of our guide, Rowdy, was fantastic and very amiable. He was able to answer all questions and switch effortlessly between languages to suit the group. We had wonderful views over the city. Rowdy pointed out all the main buildings, gave explanations and provided a history of The Hague alongside.
Beautiful church with a fascinating history of bells and clock mechanism.
I've lived here for three years and it was one of the best things I've done since arriving here.

The guided tour costs like 7€ and it is definitely worth it.
So interesting - (for everyone! Doesn’t matter your religious status!)
It was so much fun. You learn something (church, tha Hague, etc…) and of course you have a good view on the top.
The tourguide was really well known. He did explain everything nicely.
Overall a really good thing to do while you are in The Hague.

This old church is in the old part of town right by the old city hall. It’s architecture is nice and it looks very old. There are grander churches in Europe especially in Spain but this one is pretty nice. I went inside briefly and there were no pews so I’m not sure whether it is still in use.

Deconsecrated, event-venue at present (for concerts, even a beer festival when we were there in May). Lovely wood and stone work, gorgeous stained glass windows and ivory/marble statues. Worth a look.

We missed the window to be able to go in but enjoyed the old church’s facade from the outside nonetheless.

Would have been nice to venture in but another time then!
