Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a female, I have an interest in a certain year of cars, but after going to this museum, I would have to say that I highly recommend a visit, no matter what year of car you are into. It was amazing. We spent quite a few hours there and still did not see it all, so the price is very cheap for what you get. It is all professionally done and kept very clean, plus the cars are beautifully painted to show off their magnificence.

For 17 Euros, this is one bargain price for a very professional museum for both male and females to visit.

The building was built for the purpose to show the car collection and the building as well as the cars are spectaculair. Many of the cars on display are unique examples and one gets a good impression of the history of the car from the very begining until today. There are many cars that were milestones in the development of the car and all cars have a short explanation of their significance. We spent 3 hours and only left because it was closing time. Personally I am a petrolhead, but my wife is not, and she enjoyed it just as much. Thank you Evert Louwman for sharing your collection with us!

Quite the most amazing auto museum - Louwman Museum hides its treasures under a bushel, it wasn't until a relation suggested we visited this place that we were even aware of its existence.
Upon entry, your reviewer was struck by the space, quiet and cleanliness. The museum is cathedral-quiet and immaculately clean.
The exhibits go from early-times to recent history, with examples from all corners of the world and all vehicle types.
The cafe is situated in a pseudo street with shops, a hotel and a garage. It's very effective and very clever.
The 17.5 Euros entry fee is a pittance for what's on offer; don't even consider it's not worth it. Go here for the best collection of historic vehicles in private hands, do allow a few hours for it.

Don't know where to start. Beautiful building, gardens, a really nice collection of cars and everything that goes with cars, a nice restaurant or more like little village with shops at the end of your tour.

Very very nice collection of cars. You start at the 2nd floor and you easily spent 2 hours without having seen any car twice or having spent too much time reading what you have seen. The website is very informative and you can do some pre reading if you want to. Beside the cars they have a large collection of engines types, clearly visible how they work, model cars, car accessories you name it they have it.

For someone who isn't really interested in automobiles I was very surprised that I found this museum so fascinating. The building itself is a work of art and the situation is very beautiful. The museum is very well laid out and easy to navigate. I would totally recommend this for people of any age.

Incredible car museum. Can’t believe we nearly missed this as we were only told about it by a waiter at a restaurant the night before our last day in the area. Allow at least 3 hours here if you want to see all the cars (over 250 of them!) and read about them. Allow more time to have a drink and food in their time warp village cafe - amazing. My wife said this is the best museum she has ever been too and I would not disagree. She isn’t really into cars as much as I am but it leaves you in awe as to the number of incredible and history making cars that are in here. Mainly very old classic cars going back as far as late 1800’s but some awesome newer cars such as the Le Mans winning Toyota Hybrid car from 2018/19&20. Some F1 cars and NASCAR etc. If you like cars I would 100% recommend allowing half a day to spend to view this collection. Safe underground parking at the museum is €8 for the day which is good.

This modern housed museum at the outside of the Hague exhibits a great collection of cares. By following the recommended route you see the history from carriage, bike to cars. Especially cars from 1890 to 1950 are very well represented. Moreover, many paintngs, pictures, accessoiries, and engines are exhibited. It gives a very nice picture on what the world has developed in cars, a great place to visit. The restaurant is located in an old village style environment. This location is very suited for meetings, days out, etc, since there ares also a theater, meeting rooms and the visiting area.

It’s amazing how big and varied the collection is. From the very first cars, up to racing cars, and futuristic models. Even if you are not a car-fanatic it is very interesting. It takes you chronologicslly through the history of the automobiles. There is also one floor dedicated to posters, paintings and objects related to automobiles (car parts, but also tableware, toys etc). There is a nice cafe area, decorated as an old street. It took us about 2,5-3 hours to visit the museum.

Beautiful museum about the start of the automobile in the 1880's until the 1960's. Lovely to see the development from a horse drawn carriage to a motorised car. Even if you are not a total car fan. Beautiful collection incl. the Cadillac of Elvis Presley, sir Winston Churchills car and an original James Bond car from 1964. They even have the first made Toyota on display. All information is in Dutch and English language. To see the collection we took appr. 2,5 hrs.

The cafe/restaurant at the end of the museum is in a lovely setting, but we had to wait too long (+30 min and 3 times asking) for our cup of coffee with half of the tables empty.

If an alien wanted to learn about us through one museum, this museum could be a good option. The history of our search for speed on the ground is presented here from many aspects: the development of the car, the engines and all the culture accompanying this development among the people and among its many heroes. Absolutely instructive.
