The Louwman Museum is home to the world's oldest private collection of motor cars, compiled by two generations of the Louwman family. The museum dates back to 1934 and now comprises over two hundred and fifty antique and classic motor cars. Experts regard the collection as one of the most beautiful in the World. The museum exudes passion. Each car has its own story to tell, its own contribution to history. The motor car is a mirror of culture.

The collection is housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the city where P.W. Louwman established his Dodge and Chrysler import company. The building, designed by American architect Michael Graves, blends in sympathetically with its historic surroundings. The landscape gardens, designed by Lodewijk Baljon, complement the architecture of the building.

From the moment you walk in this museum will blow you away! An easy day trip from Amsterdam. A brand new building (six years old?) houses the extraordinary Louman collection (or at least some of it). Arranged by year with carriages from the 1800's through to early automobiles and then on to supercars. Bond's Aston Martin. A Maharajah's polished aluminum... More

This Car Museum has sufficient space to accommodate a holiday party of 200 people comfortably, but will require an external caterer to provide the food and drinks. The Museum itself is very interesting for anyone who has any love for classic cars, but it is more valuable as a party venue in my opinion. The only thing that prevents me... More

A little outside The Hague, this gem of a museum is a must for automobile enthusiasts. It has a wide range of cars, from one of the oldest in the world to those featured in modern day films. Very large museum that is well laid out. If you're like me, and not such a petrolhead (I was there with my... More

Have wanted to visit here for a few years now...and finally visited in early February (they now accept Museum Cards) which was even better as it didn't cost us anything for entry! I recommend a full day if your visiting here as there is so much to see, read & learn about over several floors...you simply cannot be disappointed...a simple... More

The overall Museum layout is great, the car selection is impressive and it's something even those with limited interest in automotive history can enjoy for a few hours. While I did enjoy the entire museum, the "originals" or near one of a kind cars from the 1800s and early 1900s caught my attention the most. If your in The Hague... More

Great family outing, excellent service, fantastic cars, even if you are not a car fan it is still great to see the history, quiet, nor crowded!

After speaking to one of the employees who informed me that they only have roughly half of the cars on show and that is around 260 cars the show and the layout of the museum is fantastic. It takes you right back to the beginning and works its way up to the present day

very nice tour through the museum according to a time-line from the early days up to very exclusive collections of race-cars. For couples it might be not interesting when one is not interested in cars. Than it's a long way to the exit and the other might feel himself pulled to the exit :-) But an amazing collection of cars.... More

This is by far the most beautiful car museum I've been. The building, the collection (from the earliest cars up to the seventies) and the presentation is simply fantastic. I would say that even if you're not so into cars, you have to admire some of the craftsmanship and creativity that has gone into the unique cars that are being... More
