We happened upon this shop, but were really glad we did. Not only is this a good place to buy authentic, hand painted, Delft blue pottery, but you can also speak to the potters, and possibly see them at work; very interesting.

This is must see attraction in Delft. Back in the day there were many pottery making factories, but this is the only one remaining until the present day. Each and every one of the pottery is hand painted and its so awesome to experience it first hand. You go through the rich history of this place, how modernization affected it... More

We had a pleasant walk through a residential area on our way to the PotteryDe Delftse Pauw. We were given a comprehensive tour by one of the owners, and learned not only about the time consuming process to create and paint the pottery pieces, but also the challenges of maintaining this traditional art alive. Yes it is expensive, but when... More

This is not a site that you can walk to but is worth the time to visit. Public transport stops close by. The tour is free and is very informative. Apparently this pottery business has been owned by one family for many, many years. We saw staff painting the pottery and went through the full process from clay to the... More

We are on tour and visited Delft pottery yesterday. It was an interesting tour to see how the pottery was made but the shop was very hot and the pottery very expensive. I did not buy anything but a block away I did find a different store selling the same pottery for much less.

We are happy you enjoyed the tour. During the tour you have seen how labour intensive it is to paint an item by hand. This makes that authentic Delft can never have the same price as Delftware made by transfer. To keep prices attractive we exclusively sell our collection in our pottery so it is not for sale in other... More

Found this place quite by accident on a drive through Delft. Had a guided tour of the pottery and a wander around the little shop. Lovely way to spend half an hour. Free to get in and very interesting to see how the pottery is made.

The tour is free but you can buy a small box of chocolates for €2,50 to help support the tours. It only takes between 5-10 minutes and is very informative. My children (ranging in age from 5 to 14) all enjoyed it and stayed focused, though the shopping at the end tried their patience. We bought some beautiful pieces, though... More

Concise free tour by a very friendly employee. My husband and I were fascinated and learned so much, at the end we bought a beautiful vase that they are shipping to us free of charge. I can't wait to receive it now that I know the story behind it. It is a handcrafted treasure that will help us always remember... More

A very good free, short English tour about how Delft Blue is made. There are two flights of stairs, so unsure if it is wheelchair friendly. The shop at the end was decently priced and you get a certificate of authenticity with each piece. Good experience.
