Generally the visit to this museum is combined with the Old City Hall. Together they give a good idea of the long history of Veere when the water was still open to the sea encouraging the trade of wool and food with Scotland. The museum...More

Two merchant houses converted to a museum containing history of town, painting scene, 7 statues from the town hall and Dutch regional costume collection - all well worth a visit and you get admission to Stadhuis museum included

This museum looks exquisite from the outside, and its contents are not disappointing. A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to paintings made by the many artists who lived in Veere. Some original historic items are present, such as statues which used to decorate...More

We went to see the tapestry, made a special trip onward from Bruges and Brussels throught the tunnel to Zeeland. Well worth the trip even though it was raining. Veere is so pretty and it seems UK tourists don't know about it. There were plenty...More

If you want to understand the importance of Veere in history, this museum is a must ... it explains the close personal and business connections between the town and Scotland in the Middle Ages.
