We decided to go for a walk following the Trajectum Lumen on our first night in Utrecht. I downloaded the app and brought the paper map with me as well, to have the information and for orientation help in case we couldn't find the next...More
We loved Utrecht that was bustling with people but not as crowded as Amsterdam- great little shops and restaurants at every corner. Evening hours were enchanting with the city lit up lights reflecting on the canals. Just charming place to stay and an easy train...More
Lovely walk when it’s not bad weather, great way to see the sights of Utrecht (although hard to see some as it’s dark). Mostly straightforward to follow the pavement lights. The tunnel makes this all worthwhile. Make sure you download the map first in case...More
I had been sitting in my apartment listening to gentle chimes in the square outside and noticed that the lights were changing colour. It turned out to be part of this collection of light installations based around the old city. You can pick up a...More

I believe this is a year round attraction. The free app is a great way to enjoy the displays or you can purchase a map from the Tourist Information office. You do need either of these tools to get the most out of the experience. It doesn't reveal itself until after sunset and there are directional lights within the footpaths to follow along. Its a great, fun thing to do & I highly recommend it.
