St. Joris kerk (St Georges church) is the largest church in Amersfoort and sits in the main square (the Hof). Not too exciting on the inside but a few times a day about two minutes after the clock has struck the hour figures of St...More

It is a Big church on the town Square. The space is huge but it looks like empty in the church. The organ is a beauty. It is not a "must" but just take a look when you're in the neighbourhood.

This church is not very decorative. It has market quarters built against it. The triple roof structure is kind of interesting though.

The church itself is worth a short visit but it's mainly the square with the market and the cafes where you can hang out on a sunny afternoon drinking a beer or two.

Not as grand as the cathedrals of the bigger towns in Holland, nonetheless, this church is well worth a visit (only€1 entry). The white-washed walls and mural fragments are lovely. Search for the gorgeous clock, and do make the effort to climb the circular stone...More

As Amersfoort grew, this church grew with it. It started small, but with each addition they did crazy things to make it possible. It costs only 1 euro per person to get in, but you can spend a good half hour admiring the inside. For...More

Ask one of the volunteers to guide you around. It's a very interesting church, because it's still in use as one and has been for several ages. The architect of the famous Palace on the Dam in Amsterdam is buried here and hes lived in...More
