The nature reserve KENNEMER duinen start at BLOEMENDAAL AAN ZEE and it is about 30min on bike or 2 hours on foot to BLOEMENDAAL village and HAARLEM just east of it. Free entrance for cyclists and walkers. One of the highlights is the "VOGELMEER" bird observatory halfway. AMSTERDAMSE WATERLEIDINGDUINEN between Zandvoort and Aerdenhout is closed to cyclists and the is... More

Went there solely for a walk and bid watching. Saw many families swimming, playing and sunbathing in the man-made lake. Saw not many birds, but the walk is nice. It would be better if the direction indication is better as sometimes the road is not well indicated. But if you have the sense of direction, it is not easy to... More

If you are not familiar with the Dutch coast, then you may be not used to a coastline which has a line of dunes several kilometers in depth. If not then I recommend you go for a walk in one of the many such areas, since you'll be surprised how beautiful the in the Netherlands. The Kennermerduinen are my personal... More

Well signed, lots of wildlife and easy cycling through the dune park. A great day out. Near the park entrances are some excellent stops for food and drink - we stopped in Overeens.

Enjoyed the many paved walking paths through the dunes. Take a few EU coins so you can open the entry gates. It was interesting seeing the micro climate and plants changed as you walked from the forest to the dunes.

I was there in the end of April with my friends - it was a bicycle trip. Dunes looked like landscape on another planet - like Mars (for example), because they were in yellow and light-brown colors, and light-blue sky - it was fantastic view!

Nature, trees, lakes, hills, wildlife, quiet and peace. Cycle tracks are mostly all macadamised. The paths are all signposted, it is North Holland's nature secret.

Our dunes are what kept us from drowning all those centuries. So we maintain them really well. Parts of the nature reserve is covered with forest, parts are just sanddunes and grass. We keep special grazing stock, there is an abundance of birds etc. Great for walking and cycling. You need to buy a day pass! Don't forget to have... More
