Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked in here when strolling around the Zaans Schaans windmills.
We had
A small cup of hot chocolate
Chocolate brownie
The staff were very polite. We were informed that in normal times customers would be allowed to prepare hot chocolate on their own. Due to COVID precautions it was not allowed anymore. There were some chocolate related souvenirs to pick up from here too.

Small, little chocolate shop but offering a large variety of chocolate, some even made in house. You can make your own chocolate for a fee (we didn't do this). But we did buy hot chocolate and it was probably one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted. Bought some chocolate bars to take home too.

Really a small place with a small amount but good chocolate.
Tony's chocolate
Home made ice cream with several tasty choices.
Several packages of chocolate for gifts.
Very kind owners and workers.
The price are average ( on my opinion).
A must for chocolate lovers if you visited this area .

Popped in here after a nice bike ride round Zaanse Schans and were greeted by friendly, smiling staff.
We were impressed by the variety of chocolates on display, saw some cute chocolate windmills for 1 euro which were ideal for little gifts to take home and enjoy ourselves.
We didn't make anything there as such as was to near closing time.
We enjoyed a lovely cold lemonade which you chose your own flavour to add to making it very nice indeed.
Worth a pop in and browse.

Zaans Gedaan is one of those unique authentic places at the schans area. You can get a DIY hot chocolate milk and hear all about the production and history behind making chocolate. Do you have plenty of time? You can make your own chocolate from bean to a small cup of chocolate in about 45 minutes. Hard work, but fun and the people of ZaansGedaan will guide you in every step. Those people have a genuine passion for chocolate and their chocolate shop. Great! Need to stop by when visiting Amsterdam.

It's a small chocolate shop cum workshop, located in the windmills. There is a waft of chocolate smell in the air.
We stepped in to grab a "self-made" Cocoa & biscuits, & get some shelter from the cold & rain. The Cocoa, that I mixed, was the best I had... maybe it was the cold, or maybe it was the cocoa!!
They show you the process through which beans get converted to chocolate... it's a free walk-through demo in English & other languages by a lady. At the end of it you can make your own cocoa drink or buy chocolates.
Worth a visit if visiting the windmills.

A cute little chocolate shop with so much delicious chocolate. A really good hot chocolate station where you can make your own mix then choose hot milk or water. A great selection of Dutch chocolate.
