    Must see in Europe
Visited during the 2023 tulip festival and had the best time. Friendly, helpful staff and the most stunning gardens. We had delicious coffee upon arrival. Would visit again as it's so huge I feel like we only saw a quarter of it - what an experience!

    Only if you like flowers!
Nice concept. Additional charges for boat ride and other experiences. Worth a visit. Very well kept. Maybe more indication and signage would be helpful. Coffee shops get very full and difficult to find seating. Souvenir shops overpriced. The fields on the outside look like good photo shoot spots. Booked tickets on get your guide and also included the 3 day unlimited travel tickets. Was well worth it!

    Great gardens poor food
Beautiful gardens well worth a visit to see the spring flowers. The only thing that let's them down is the food. Without doubt the worst food we have experienced in the Netherlands and way over priced. Wished we had brought our own food, they must know the poor offering they are serving to their guests!

Must see and experience Keukenhof Gardens!
We visited Keukenhof Gardens on the first day they were open in March 2024. We bought tickets, parking and booklet prior to arrival. They were extremely organized with parking and entry was a breeze. The flowers and scenery were gorgeous. They also had performances that were entertaining. This is a must see if you are in the Netherlands and lucky enough to be visiting during tulip season.

Booking ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website
Very nice time to visit, there are even cherry blossoms! High recommended! Just some soundbites about the bus... I booked the ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website and had to select a bus timing. Rushed to the bus boarding location to get there on time. However, discovered the time you booked the bus does not matter!? Everyone joins a long queue and takes the next bus that is available... hmmh. Also, while the bus trip is not that long, the seats are quickly taken up and if you prefer not to stand on the bus, just wait for the next bus. Note, where you are waiting to board the bus (I boarded from RAI) and also when you are waiting for the return bus at Keukenhof, there is no shelter.

    Fabulous visit.
Fabulous place to visit. We went on the 21st March & we managed to get about 3 seasons of weather in the one day. We boarded the ferry to catch the coach, very easy but when we got off the ferry it was hailstones. We had a break from those as they only lasted a very short while then we had rain & if you blinked you may have missed the sun. It was so cold we went to the shop & bought a hat & gloves. The flowers were beautiful & the undercover displays were very colourful & looked gorgeous. The cafe wasn’t too busy & cake & coffee very nice. Already getting organised to book next year but will leave it a couple of weeks later so hopefully it won’t be so cold. Been twice before but can’t help but to keep re visiting. Everyone should go if they can.

    Absolutely Stunning
The best garden we have ever seen. Ignore anyone that tells you this is not worth seeing. Was it cold, yes. Was it crowded, yes. Was it worth it, absolutely! Recommend getting to the park early to avoid the midday crowds. We arrived at 8am and had the place to ourselves for the first hour. Even though it was early in the season, much was still in blooom. It took use around 3 hours to make it around the entire grounds but we were blown away. If you are considering going, just do it.

    Beautiful but busy!
A lovely experience with many tulips (and other flowers) in bloom even though we went early in the season. The only negative was the queue for the bus…even though we were pre-booked and given a departure time, it seemed a free for all once you got to the pick up point. Apart from that, and having to stand on the overcrowded bus both there and back, it was great.

A blaze of colour well worth a visit
The two months when the flowers are in bloom at Keuchenhof is well worth a visit. The well manicured gardens on the flat paths make snaking your way round from the windmill to the lake a real pleasure. The senses are not only experiencing the riot of col but also the perfume from the hyacinth beds is magnificent.

Its a bit of a bucketlist item.

We visited on the day the flower parade was on. The bus journey from Amsterdam is supposed to be 45 minutes long, took more like 1hr 30 due to the sheer volume of people.

We got the earliest bus too.

Keukenoff is a flower garden tulip disney land. The crowds do take the edge of the wow factor off quite a bit. I was expecting a big crowd , but even this was on a scale of a football stadium / music concert capacity and moving like it was the end of the event.

Food is very highly priced , +- 22 euros for a very basic chicken and chips. The food quality is very mediocre. and not easy to find seating early on. There are a number of restaurants /diners and they all have the same problem early morning.

After 14h30 the crowds drop off and you breathe a bit . The windmill , view of the fields, indoor displays are very well put together. By that time the crowds have worn you out.

The stepping stones submerged under water is a very nice feature, best left until the afternoon .

The ques to get out and get back on the bus are very long . we waited for more than an hour , +- 17h30.

Be prepared to do alot of walking . The entire park can be done in a day , but would recommend 2 days to take your time through it , instead having to push through it in one day.

It is superb , but you may very well not want to see a tulip for a few days thereafter.

Absolutely stunning, but here are some tips.

We purchased the Keukenhof bus and entry combo from the Keukenhof website. Arrived at Europaplein on the metro (stop is Rokin) around 7:30 for an 8:30 departure. There was already quite a line for the bus. Bus arrives around 8:15 - they pack the people on, there’s very little seating room so the majority of passengers are standing cheek to cheek for the duration of the transit (40 minutes during morning rush). There was no air circulation and it was very hot- combined with some unfortunate odors this made for a very painful trip. The ride home was empty and more comfortable.

Early in the morning it was spectacular, the flower combinations are amazing, the variety left us speechless. We didn’t realize you cannot see the fields much from the gardens, and we wish we would’ve booked a separate bike ride or tour of the flower fields. The boat tour line was hours long so we were unable to do that either.

I must say, this was a pretty cool experience.

We bought a bus & entrance combo ticket on the website and I must say its super easy. Once you reach the Europaplain metro station in Amsterdam you go up the stairs and the bus stop is literally 50 feet away.

The only confusion was that there is only one queue for the bus and to buy tickets from the agent so the queue goes really slow.

It takes about 30 minutes to reach the gardens, and since we had our tickets we entered in a matter of seconds

Once inside ... the gardens are huge. But you can see the entire thing in a bout 2/3 hours without rushing.

Inside we also took a 45 minutes boat ride that cost 9 euros each.

The main attraction of course is the tulips and boy they are beautiful.

One of the highlights of our trip to Holland.

My wife and I planned our visit to the Netherlands around a visit to Keukenhof Gardens. We chose to visit in mid-April when the tulips would be at their best. We purchased a combination ticket in advance and took the express bus from Amsterdam RAI to Lisse. We arrived with very high expectations given that this was one of the highlights of our visit. And, at the end of the day, we left feeling that our expectations had been met and exceeded. First, the gardens are beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The blossoms are planned (as much as mother nature will allow) so that there is always something in bloom throughout the Spring months. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better exhibit of spring blooms in the world. I was also very impressed with the transportation to the gardens. The buses were clean and comfortable and there were enough of them to handle the crowds. So, despite there being a long line to get the bus, we did not have to wait long. I also thought the combination ticket was a great value. To make the most of your experience, I recommend that you arrive early in the day to avoid some of the crowds. Also, if possible, avoid coming on a weekend or holiday. Even as the gardens became more crowded throughout the day, the park is so large that it was never difficult to get some good pictures of the displays.

May is the perfect time to see tulips in Amsterdam and I definitely recommend visiting Keukenhof (it's about 45 minutes from Amsterdam with tons of buses and tour companies going there all day long, every day). I would rate this as the best place I've visited on a trip. It was amazing. And beautiful. And oh so many tulips. Even if you don't love tulips, you'll wander around this place in absolute awe at their beauty and the variety of colors.

We arrived on a weekday around 11am and it wasn't too busy. They provide maps as there is a lot to see. I think we spent about 4.5 hours total and saw everything on the map. Aside from the gorgeous tulip displays, there's other stuff like cool art mixed in, a windmill that you can climb up into and see up close, a scenic boat ride (10 euro for that), shops that sell a lot of tulip trinkets and seeds scattered around each area of the park, and places to eat. We went to one self service kiosk area that was great - plenty of seating, interesting food choices. The traditional apple cake is definitely worth trying! There were also places set up to showcase the history of Keukenhof over the years (it was the 75th anniversary when we visited) and one building dedicated to orchids. There's even a fun pond that you can "walk" across on stones that was quite popular.

The place definitely filled up the longer we stayed. It seemed like many people were there specifically for photo shoots and some of the displays and attractions were quite crowded and hard to look at, much less get up close. I recommend going early in the morning and leaving by early afternoon if you want to avoid the crowds. Also, while the gift stores were awesome and everywhere, the items were definitely pricey. You could find many of the same things for half the price at the Schipol airport and likely at other tourist shops around Amsterdam. Whether a tulip lover or not, it's so worth checking out!

I have visited the Keukenhof a number of times over the years. Just a few quick, to the point tips for everyone. If you are a photographer, you need to plan to spend a week here, visiting the Keukenhof and surrounding bulb fields. Second, if you are planning on multiple visits to the Keukenhof, then purchase a season pass. It allows for unlimited entries and exits during the season. Third, the best time to visit Keukenhof is after 3 PM. The light is much more flattering and allows for much better photos. Fourth, wear comfortable shoes because you'll walk miles each day! The best time to visit is 15 April through 30 April when there is an average winter. Some years and colder and some are warmer, but the planners and gardeners at the Keukenhof always ensure something is blooming. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away! Finally, the Keukenhof is closed for the 2020 season due to the restriction placed into effect to diminish the spread of COVID-19. See you at the Keukenhof in 2021!!!!

First visit in over 20 years still awesome!

Very easy to buy tickets onine and book a timeslot however as we were early we could have purchased tickets on the day that said if very busy you might end up queueing.

Whilst the park is probably 2 weeks away from being at its best it was still very worthwhile. The displays are glorious, so much spectacular colour, we spent about 2 hours walking arounds, took hundreds of pics. The display of orchids was surreal, I am not a flower buff but it was simply stunning!

If you get the chance - go! It is about an hour's drive from the hook of holland

I had combination ticket from Amsterdam by bus and the enterence tickets. While coming back even there was too many people waiting for the bus, it took min 15min for 1 bus to come and pick the people up, it was around 19:00. It was a bit annoying while waiting outside with little kids. It was very windy.. and in the bus too many people was also standing, travelled knee to knee with people there wasn't any care about COVID 19 safety. After enterence you see the amazing well organized flowers everywhere which is super cool. It would be handy to bring your own drink I think, 1 bottle of water is more than 3Euro. WCs are not clean enough and baby Changing bed was very dirty. You should set your Hygiene expectations very low.

We visited the gardens on the day of the Flower Parade.
It was a personal option and we have been aware of the fact that it will be very crowded.
Eventhough the visit was very pleasant, due to the very well organized staff, with smooth parking, easy access, and good visit. However, the line for the boat ride was huge, but either than that everything was OK.
Be sure you have a card with you, since no cash is accepted.
The gardens are still open till mid May, so I strongly recommend a visit!

We went April 1, the day after a crazy spring snow. A lot of the flowers were down because of the storm but it was still absolutely beautiful! The greenhouses with the tulips, orchids, etc are like nothing I've ever seen before. Would recommend going a few hours before closing as it clears out and you can get great photos and see the tulips up close.
