This is a beautiful poort in the heart of Haarlem surrounded by water. At night the lighting is spectacular as you drive past. The sister poort called the Haarlemer Poorg is in Amsterdam. It is wonderfully maintained and well worth finding especially in the evening.

Way more than a gate, one of the main attractions of the city. Majestic and huge, made from red bricks, it's the best spot from where to start a tour of this tiny and nice city.

there is really nothing around. The gate is standing alone around nothing. It is even not impressive, looks in reality different then on some of the photos. it is not open, you cannot visit it. Not worth to make a walk to it.
