The market square has a market on Saturday and is very busy and nice! around the square you can find a number of restaurants and bars to go to in the evening. So a good central point to start of finish our day visiting Haarlem!

the Grote Markt is a nice enough cobbled square in the centre of Haarlem. It has the cathedral to one side & bars / cafes to two sides with hotels on the remainder. Pretty standard to be honest.
