Hubby and I went in for the weekend of the Christmas Markets. It was SOOOO crowded! It was a Sunday and rather cold, windy, and showery. Still, that did not prevent people from going. There were times where you literally could not walk through the...More

A lively market place. There are stalls and restaurants with outside seating. I would remember this place due to one of the best freshly made stroopwafles of our trip at one of the stalls here.

While strolling through town, enjoy the architecture of long passed days on the square. In summer it will be crowded, now it was only shopping people in search of the warmth inside

This is a lovely square surrounded by beautiful buildings. Not too many people about, maybe too cold. Pretty lights up and well worth a visit.

It was really nice to come here and get away from the crowds of Amsterdam. Nice to walk around, taste cheeses in the cheese shop, and not dodge bikes for a few hours.

Our visit was mid-week so wasn’t as humming as a weekend. However our visit was interesting none-the-less. The Town Hall was undergoing some refurbishment and there were armed guards everywhere. I tried the herring, onion and pickle from a vending cart which was excellent.
