We rented 4 bikes for a day from the IJdok location. The rear hand brakes on the two children's bikes did not work, which I found dangerous. When we reported the issue upon returning the bikes, we were told that this was done on purpose...More
We rented three e-bikes here. (not cheap) I had made reservations from the US prior, worried about the summer tourist rush. Although I appreciated the "reservation" I made ahead of time, when we got there there was no reservation and it was handled rather casually....More
2 bicycles rented here for 2 hours. Very busy shop in central location but very friendly and helpful staff with well maintained cycles. Good price and would recommend them. Only downside is that they share the shop with another company and this causes confusion and...More

The heart of Amsterdam is actually small enough to walk, if you have enough stamina, but it's tons of fun on wheels!
Also recommended is to take the ferry - behind the station- and explore the sights of the very green northern part of Amsterdam.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
