We were on a 4 day visit to Amsterdam and basically by day 3 we were sick of the crowds and just wanted a bit of space.
We can't have been the first tourists to have seen a tram with "Flevopark" on it. We decided...More
As we walked through the park two herons flew out of the trees right in front of us. There a lot of sports facilities and children's playgrounds but our favourite place was the distillery by the lake in the middle of the park. Too cold...More
One of Amsterdam's several green lungs, Flevopark is a nice place to walk around. There is a lake though little else in the way of ornamentation. It does have its own distillery and a tasting place too !

Just tried and went untill the end of the line by Tram. We found this park, which like all Amsterdam's Parks, is well taken care and a joy for kids and adults. There are places for a relaxed picnic envolved by the local nature.
Most tourists visit the Vondelpark. True, you shouldn't skip this highlight on your (first) visit to Amsterdam. However, if you want to visit a reall dutch non turistic park, then Flevopark is a good alternative in every season of the year. It's big enough to...More
