One of Amsterdam’s Brown Bars and probably the oldest one. It’s a bit outside the city center and it was relatively quiet when we visited. A typical old Dutch pub where time stops when you walk through the door. It had a few beers on...More

The Druif was an an unbelievably good find just off the beaten track but not far from the Maritime museum. The building was an old distillery but is now a typical brown cafe with bags of character and some great beers. Thought I had tasted...More

We're Amsterdam residents and pass by this bar every day commuting to work. Tonight, visiting for the first time it felt like coming home. So much laughter and fun and talks with s many people. Much more locals than tourists. Love this place.

This brown bar just oozes charm and age. So very cool inside with the small elevated section with the few tables and the lower bar section. Love the old barrels lining the back wall. If you traveled back in time to 1712 and went here...More

We stopped for a drink in this bar and its nice. Being adventurous we tried the Le Chouffe Bok which wasn't to our taste but was ok. The bar is a classic brown bar and a step back in time. A useful stop off point...More
