Amazing example of neo-gothic architecture. Beautiful church with a very welcoming staff. They give amazing tours FOR FREE. No matter your reason or relationship with God or churches, you will feel welcomed. This is indeed a special place worth a visit.

There is an architectural quality to the outside of the building but inside it is quite splendid. Huge vaulted ceiling. Ornate stained glass windows. Richly decorated spaces. Certainly worth a visit.

What a gorgeous church! I was wandering around on my own one night and came across the Jesuit residence. I was taking a picture for my uncle and a dear friend, both of whom are Jesuits. And then I saw the church was open. So I went in to pray for a while. They were closing up, but let me stay as long as they could, and I was so grateful. The church was there right when I needed it.

This is a lovely church run by Jesuit Priests and the Sunday evening 17:15 mass (in Dutch) is lovely and you have a lot of classical music it is almost like a free concert. There is an English Mass on Saturday evening at 17:15 if you prefer

Whether you are Catholic or not, the cantor is fantastic. His compelling voice and impressive cello playing are transcendental. The sermons in English cover trending topics. Come for the mass in english, enjoy a classical concert during the mass, leave uplifted. My husband and I actually look forward to Mass every week. The visual display of the inside of the church is a feast for the eyes.

Yes, that is what you gonna say when are in this church, sooooo colourfull. Two, three times a week I always see this church from the tram for years and I never think to take a look inside. Until I walked nearby and finally I decided to go inside. It is open for public. I won't say anything else. Just take a look my pictures and judge yourselves.

The church is situated at the Singel and is dedicated to St Francis Xavier. The church is easily recognised by its two pointed towers.
The inside of the church is remarkable with beautiful gold, red and green colors.
Free entrance.
Visit Duration: 30 minutes.

We attended the 5:15pm Mass on Saturday for Palm Sunday. What a beautiful experience! The palms they handed out were very different than the palms we typically receive in the United States. They also did a procession that we participated in, which is also different that our experiences in the United States.
The church itself is very beautiful and worth a stop just look inside. There is a beautiful statue of Mary receiving the dead body of Christ in one of the back corners. The expressions of pain and grief on the faces are truly amazing.
If you speak English and want to go to Sunday mass, I recommend this service. It was at a good time on Saturday, whereas we noticed that Sunday mass times would have made it harder for us to do all we wanted (we hit Museumplein all day Sunday).

Just in luck. The church is open. Some churches don’t have real candles anymore but I’m in luck, here are candles which I can light. The rays of sunlight hit the stained glass. It all looked amazing. Very beautiful.

Do you know if there will be a regular English mass on Saturday,April 15? Or is there any church in Amsterdam that will have English mass on Easter, April 16?
