    Large department store
This large department store has lots of high end brands which seems to be a focus. There was a sale on when we visited but, despite looking high and low for a bargain that we both liked, we came away empty handed. Probably the main shop to visit if in Amsterdam.

    De Bijenkorf Christmas Display
I am not much of a shopper but the Christmas Display of De Bijenkorf department store in Amsterdam somehow catches my attention each and every year. This year, the Christmas Display of De Bijenkorf did not disappoint me. If you happen to be in Amsterdam, it might be worth a couple of minutes of your time to look at them🌷🌷🌷 (Correction: i am mixing up the months again. For my Hotel Penaga review here below, the date of experience should be October 2023 and not September 2023. Again, my sincere apologies for my error😃)

    Disappointing
Although a lovely department store, the cafeteria was extremely disappointing. We wanted a healthy salad and asked several employees in the food court to point us to the right food station, but nobody seemed to have any idea of what was on offer and didn't seem to care. We finally found the large salad station but it was completely empty and featured only a tureen of soup. Why? So we ended up with cheese and salad sandwiches, which were extremely dry (possibly a Dutch thing) so needed butter. The charge was 1.5 euros for two small pats.

Excellent staff and a wonderful shopping experience
Sir or Madam, your shop and staff are excellent. I have tried to find out if you still sell the square Royal Delft Rabbit money boxes. When friends have babies I always get one in your store besides other shopping. Do you still stock them. Regards George Armstrong. commodoregeorge@hotmail.com

This is the big department store downtown. It has an old fashioned feel yet is full of modern things to buy. Staff are here to help you. It is centrally-located.

A great escape in the center of a noisy and chaotic city center .

The dining options on the 5th floor are great!

There is an outdoor rooftop patio with good views of spires.

It’s 2 degrees outside, so when going out people wear winter clothes. At the bijenkorf they don’t care for their clients, employees like to walk around in t shirts so they boost the heater +26 . Can’t stay longer than 10 minutes in this sauna. My advice; bring your summer clothes when visiting the Bijenkorf in Januari!

This is a wonderful department reminding of when I lived in Chicago and we had Marshall Fields. Plus on the 5 th floor there is a cafeteria. Nice when kids can see the food and select for themselves.

Nice department store with a good selection of quality merchandise.
It is not unlike a smaller Selfridges in London. Always a pleasure to shop here with helpful staff

On Dam Square, this massive block of retail is high-end shopping. Loads of floor space for designer gear.
