A section in the center of the city, a bit square, where some modern art for sale is on display. Lots of places to eat and drink around, trams come by.

The Artplein Spui or Spui as the locals call it is crossroads near the University of Amsterdam, and the Flower Market. There are many fine restaurants in this square. It is on the main above ground tram line.

Stopped here for sunday art market. Only about 10-12 stands but the art is affordable, local and the artists are very happy to describe their work. Worth a visit, with some nice cafes nearby.

This is a very pleasant square and a crossroads in town. Places to eat and drink, and trams. There is a market on some days.

Spui is a small square on a major tram route and is nicely cobbled. Often nothing is here but you can sit down on benches & watch the world go by. On Sundays, there is a nice art market here with many original works.

If you are visiting attractions like Begijnhof and Amstedam Museum on a Sunday, you might want to check out the open art market held at Spuiplein, just to the south of Begignhof. From 10am to 6pm local artists setup stalls and display paintings, drawings, handmade...More

We stumbled across this art show after having dinner at Luxembourg. It was a neat little show. We have a few birds at home, so these prints caught our eye. The artist was very friendly and wrapped our piece of art securely for its trip...More

I much preferred this town square to the much more well-known Dam Square. Full of shops, bookstores, bars and restaurants and also a fun art show on Sundays, this is a great place to grab a glass of wine (or to eat in nearby Kantjil...More

This square is very nice also without the art market. The building all around are some of the oldest in Amsterdam, including a gothic church. The art market is very diversified, there is everything what you can immagine. My only questions - who buys this...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
