Cafe Thijssen is great! Good food, great beer, friendly staff and a cool atmosphere in the heart of the beautiful Jordaan. Well worth a visit!

A great neighborhood bar. The drinks are good and the staff is so friendly. It does get a busy at night on the weekends but still comfortable to hang out there. One of my favorite bars in Amsterdam.

I visited Thijssen twice at lunchtime during a one-week stay in Amsterdam. Both times with my wife and teenage daughter. The place was full but not crowded and the athmosphere was relaxed and wellcoming. The clientele was a good mix of tourists like us and...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
