Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a small and practically independent museum on the 'wrong' side of the water for most of Amsterdam's tourist catchment but can be easily reached by one of the 2 free ferries from the back of centrum followed by a <5 minute taxi ride or about 20 mins walk with a superb coffeeshop ('t Ooievaartje, Ooievaarsweg 10) en route.

The building is small and has a community room at the front and the exhibition space at the back which is only 1 room but a lot of research and effort is put into the displays. For example, the current exhibit is "The role of whaling in the North";when I last visited, the exhibition was all about the history of milk from Amsterdam Noord, detailing it's journey from the cow and then via rowboats to Amsterdam proper where it was taken into the canal systems before being distributed door-to-door by the same milkmaids. I was also lucky enough to visit at the time that a community arts project had been held and all the houses in the estate behind the museum had handmade light boxes in each window making it look almost magical at night.

All the information about the exhibit was in Dutch but the curator was happy to spend an hour with me explaining it thoroughly and in good English.

I think kids would probably be board after about 10 minutes. but if your staying in the campsite behind then it's a must.

Small informative museum about Amsterdam Noord, focusing on history of social housing architecture in early 20th century for the employers of the shipyards and cable industry in the North of Amsterdam.
