As I was nearby I decided to stroll through Lindengracht Market, One long street full of stalls either side selling food, clothes, household goods and plenty of chesse, does get busy as you would expect with locals and tourists, come early! to avoid crowds.

This is a very cute market on Saturdays, not particularly unique but if you like wandering in markets it's a very nice one. Come early, when everything is fresh and before the crowds arrive. The best part of this market is its street food. We...More

Was recommended to visit the fruit and vegetable and flea market. More new stuff than vintage or antiques. Best bit is the street food (great chicken soup and fresh juices)

Be careful which day you visit. We were in town in a Monday and this was jammed full of parked cars. No market on Mondays.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
