The oldest proeflokal (tasting house) in town (not the oldest cafe), opened by the Bootz distillery on June 29th, 1650. De Drie Flesches (the three little bottles) is located right off the Dam Square at Gravenstraat 18, very easy to get to from just about...More

I saw that Anthony Bourdain's bloody show about Amsterdam, and since I am finishing a travelogue of my own, I wanted to check that famous palce, not least because of Dutch brandy jenever (pronounced Yeh-neh-ver, not Genever!). I saw three bottles above the entrance, and...More

Amazing little pub in the heart of Amsterdam. Met so many new friends. The people are very very friendly. We enjoyed the many different Genever cocktails they make. Crazy hours so check before you go.

De Drie Fleschjes ("The Three Little Bottles") is about one block behind the new church on the Dam Square. Do yourself and favor and stop in...you'll be glad you did. Supposedly dating back to 1650, when it was established as a pub, it is said...More

I walked by twice and missed it. But when I found it, it was well worth the search. One of the oldest operating pubs in the Netherlands. Great story behind the casks. Lots of drink choices along with a fun bar menu. Seating is inside...More

A lovely spot with enthusiastic and friendly barmen. Settle in for a session. Taste a few of the beers and then sip some Gin with locals. Make friends with ones that have a key for the barrels. Chaos ensues.

Stumbled across this little gem while looking for a "pub" in Amsterdam. A good range of beers in an authentic setting, it is quite pricey, but worth it to try things other than Heineken and Amstel. The barkeep was helpful and honest, returning my wallet...More

My dad told me it was the oldest bar in Amsterdam which, if true, is very cool. It definitely had a feel of that and the location was great. The specialty sipping cocktails were interesting if you like gin/vokda. I didn't love mine, but I...More

As lovers of gin we went in to try the local (and original) Jenever but soon moved on to the bols with the most amazing range of flavours to suit all tastes. Incredibly knowledgeable staff, very friendly and generous with their tastings. Great experience.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
