This is a small but most beautiful city ZOO we have ever seen!! The antieke look is in perfect state. The typical Amsterdam canal houses are right there and therefore in your pics. Every animal site has something special and looks great. Although it was...More

Highly recommend. An amazing experience and day out. A really great atmosphere, lots of animals to see and all very well looked after in big open spaces. Definitely a must in Amsterdam for everyone, couples, friends or families!

I have spent almost a full day with my little ones in there and I have to say it was really fun. For my kids, seeing how the animals are fed was amazing. And the butterflies.....just wow

Absolutely fantastic zoo. Worth visiting on a lovely day, great selection of animals to see close up. I don’t have children but i think it would be a great day out if you are visiting with children. Make sure you go into the monkey/bird house.

Cannot review anything else as I didn't have the time to go all the way round. We saw the Spacetrip show which was amazing BUT only narrative available was in Dutch.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

Try the plantage it is very beautiful and you can eat in the greenery overlooking the zoo. It is not actually in the zoo itself but right outside the main entrance.
