There are over 2000 houseboats in Amsterdam so this small museum was great to visit to get an idea of the history of houseboats.

Lots of artifacts and information on cards and around the house boat - really interesting. We would have liked to have had more time so we could have stayed for coffee! Unfortunately we had to leave to go to the airport. This attraction was near...More

It was great to be able to look around a houseboat, especially one that also told you about houseboats in general. I probably spent less than 30 minutes there so I was glad that it was part of the iamsterdam card.

A nice quick stop - the museum can be visited in as shortly as 15 minutes. The houseboat is over a 100 years old, and was inhabited for many years. It is very compact but has more comforts (and head space!) than one would imagine....More

It was great to see the inside of one of these houseboats. Great use of space. Would recommend for people visiting Amsterdam, and interested in this kind of living. Wish there were a similar museum to see the inside of a period canal house.

A great insight of the Houseboat that you see dotted about Amsterdam. Friendly hosts and maps in a multitude of languages guide you around the short exhibition. I'm 6'4" so a lot of ducking was required, but there are areas where you can stand with...More

Having walked past many houseboats it was great to take a look at this beautifully restored boat. Really interesting - with information on other boats and canal living in Amsterdam. We were encouraged to sit in the main cabin and on the rear deck giving...More

Museum is nice, quaint and well thought out. It’s great to get an opportunity to see inside a houseboat. However it is quite small for the price you pay. On the IAmsterdam card it is free and well worth the visit!

We decided to go here as it was a bit of a grey day. If you show the website on your phone you get a small discount. You only really need half an hour to 45 minutes on the boat but it's nice to see....More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
