The permanent collection has interesting artefacts from the Ancients, even an Egyptian sarcophagus. The museum also offers activities for kids. If you were just planning on visiting the temporary exhibition for an hour or two, that's fine, but you could spend most of your day...More

We visited the museum for the special exhibition on colour photography before 1918, which is a great exhibition. On the second floor you could visit their permanent collection on Estruskian, Greek and Roman art. Very beautiful museum.

Not too many people seem to have discovered this rather small museum in the heart of Amsterdam and it is quality wise a gem. I had an hour to spare and know that having been once I will definitely return to explore further. The exhibition...More

Located in the center of town the AP museum offers a wide collection of antiques (Egyptian, Greek, Roman and some more) and can be considered a great introduction to these periods in history. Fun for kids as well with clear explanattions. Not just a good...More

The museum is not very large indeed, but still impressive. The collections are very interesting, we spent almost 3 hours looking through them. Also, we had a really nice chat with the archaeologists who work there; they told us a bit about their work and...More
