I arrived in Amsterdam on a Monday afternoon and went straight to the Blue Boat docks for my canal cruise. I chose to sit in the bow of the boat so that I could see everything. The ride was lengthy enough to cover quite a...More

It cost us €11 each for an hour's trip. In various languages. It's fun and we always go on a trip when in Amsterdam. Also they take your photo and you can choose to buy it if you wish for €5.

It's a canal city. You have to get down and close to the water and see Amsterdam from the perspective of those who worked and continue to work this great City. An hour is enough. The narration is uninspired. But what were you expecting for...More

A canal cruise is, I think, a very good way to see Amsterdam. It not only allows you to see different areas of the city (depending on which one you do) but also to get the feeling of the city-life. I would suggest to go...More

Took everyone's advice here and jumped on a tour boat as soon as we got to Centraal Station. As we had never been to Amsterdam, it was a good way to take in an overview of the city and get our bearings. The audio tour...More

This is a great way to see this city without running the risk of being bowled over by a bike rider! This is such a busy city it was a relief to be able to sit down and observe the major sights while cruising calmly...More

Most overrated didn't enjoy . Better to buy tickets direct from cruise as it's cheaper then shops . Try to take Day time cruise .

My family and I, (including a teenager and young child) took a 75 minute cruise on the canal. This was a great way to see the city. The boat was clean, tidy and comfortable. With my younger child, age 9, we found that this tour...More

After walking around all day, to end the day with a nice canal boat tour that was relaxing and interesting. The tour itself is ok, the audio guide occasionally kicks in. Overall a nice 75 minute trip.

Really great way to see the area. Everything looks better from the boat. Gorgeous. I have taken a few different ones over my time. I enjoyed the one recently for 15 euros and they have a bar you can buy drinks on.

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its
saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to
view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
