Having no idea about Rembrandt we decided that we would visit this museum and house to learn about him. We paid and walked through by the desk and saw an arrow pointing downstairs to the museum and shop, and an arrow pointing upstairs to the...More
I would recommend visiting, the museum staff is really nice and the museum exuceted the replica of the artists life really well. I also enjoyed the demonstration of making tempera and oil paint by mixing pigments.
It is a nice museum although I was expecting to find more Rembrandt paintings. But the visit to his house, a house with almost 4 centuries, is very interesting. You learn how was Rembrandt life, where did he paint, how did he prepare the pigments....More

We had a few hours remaining on our 48 hour Amsterdam visitors ticket and decided to visit Rembrandt House. It is very well done and worth a visit. very interesting to see how people lived at that time.
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
