The area of De Negen Straatjes is perfect for some shopping off the beaten high streets. Zig-zag from street to street and pop in one of the many bars or coffeeplaces on your way!

I'm not quite the shopping-type of guy but this changed me. You can find all the coolest boutiques, the cosiest places to eat and it's surrounded by the canals. I really enjoyed exploring all these cute and lovely streets that I spent an entire day...More

Go during the week to avoid the crowds, but this is Amsterdam shopping at its best. Cute boutiques, lovely cafes and of course the great canal views.

We ambled around this area which has a lot less traffic that most other areas. There are plenty of small shops, bars and cafes. Well worth a visit.

A good place to shop or just window-shop - sitting between the Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht canals. These streets have lots of shops, a mixture of traditional small traders, more modern shops - cafes and restaurants.

Great for a walk after lunch to enjoy the architecture and some more alternative shopping. Not many restaurants but a few well attended bars are interspersed among the narrow streets

Its loosing the quaintness that it was once famous for. Maybe its increasing rent or high lease but most of the old shops are now replaced by cafes/ restaurants and stores selling commercial stuff. Still a good walk though but not the same anymore.

Unlike the crowded and touristy pedestrian street that runs through the center, this street of 9 blocks is far more relaxed and upscale and inviting and far less crowded and more atmospheric. Great walk.

A great area for just walking through the streets - a neighborhood of unique shops and restaurants. It is usually pleasant walking at a comfortable pace - not totally overwhelmed by visitors. Lots of little surprises to run across.

Nice tiny streets! Look just lovely. Place is full of different kind of shops, bar and restaurants. It is worth to find time for this district of Amsterdam.
