Small shops along side a canal. All of them have numerous numbers of flowering plant collection. Flowering cactus, black rose and Venus fly traps are few interesting collection which grasped my attention. It is worth a visit to see the collection of flowering plants from various parts of the world. You can also buy Netherlands Souvenir here. Price looked cheaper... More

Amazing flower market at a very centre location, usually very crowded and is a must visit place for nature lovers. It offers wide verities of flowers and seeds, they have got amazing collection. The place is so colourful and looks beautiful with those settings.

I don't know anything about flowers, but I figured my wife would love it so we went. There were bags of 50, 80 and/or 100 tulips and mixed bags for as low as 5 euros. Not sure if the quality isn't good, or if that is a ridiculous deal. The whole scene is cool nontheless.

It was autumn time so we expected fewer flowers but there were hardly any at all except lots of dried ones hanging from the ceiling plus lots and lots of bulbs for sale and mostly cheap looking/tacky souvenirs at high prices. Also many signs saying "no photos" so not sure how all these photos are now appearing here on Trip... More

I personally love flowers and plants so it was nice to see a verity of them. A lot of cool species and seed we don't have in Israel. Nice to walk and admire the many stands, close to dam square. U can also sit right next to the flower market in a small cafe and admire the view.

In my mind I was picturing stall upon stall of wonderful blooms and a ton of photo opportunities... Not so, unfortunately. It was almost all just tourist tat - plastic tulips galore, and things you can buy off any stall in any country. Don't get me wrong, I love tourist tat, but there are more than enough shops for that... More

Oh a must see in Amsterdam Gorgeously set up Lovely things to buy Some we are actually so silly to buy such as two seeds to grow a bonsai but then it's a momento of Amsterdam and I would buy it again Take a camera Beautiful to photograph the dried flowers hanging from the ceiling I could have spent many... If you are a tulip fan and going there to enjoy them, you will end up disappointed. This "market" is 90% souvenires and tulip bulbs. It would be much nicer without lame souvenires such as magnets, keychains, snowglobes etc. Only one stand had actual tulips. But it's ok to go on a walk and end up there, but I repeat,... More

The Bloemenmarket is the place to go if you have any interest in flowers! There are many stalls to select from. The prices are slightly different but hardly anything to worry about. The owners are helpful and knowledgable. We bought amaryllis and tulip bulbs.

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
