The park is an easy walk from either the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh museums. The tulips were in bloom around a large fountain when we were there and it was beautiful. If walking in the grass, be mindful to watch out for dog poop.

Went for a nice stroll through this park, it's nice a big, beautiful tulip section in the middle with a statue. Few nice lakes and wildlife. Definitely have a look here if you have a spare 30-60mins

Peace of mind in the heat of the city. Beautiful, easy to reach and walk. Recommended for runners. Almost like Central Park in NYC.

Large and beautiful park in Amsterdam, great for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. Popular with locals and tourists and close to the museum quarter.

Quick walk to the park from Rijksmuseum...and easily accessible by the tram. Large green area to walk around (largest green space in Amsterdam)...to enjoy nature, flowers and the outdoor art installations including one from Pablo Picasso. You can get here on Tram 2 of the GVB.

It's a place for all different types of people and activities, gets busy in good weather. Lot's of runners and places to chill. Saw a guy injecting heroin there which some people may not like

Walked the entire park and loved it. The trails follow the water and provide great views of the bird life. Many locals using the park for recreation. Great for biking or a stroll. Several places to buy food and water, or sit in the sun and escape from the bustle of the city. With the exception of the one monument... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
