Small group tours and private tours company. It is run by me, Terry, and I do most of the tours. I have built up a top class reputation over the years for my storytelling skills and knowledge. Taking a WOWTour is like having a friend showing you round their favourite parts of the city.

We spent a delightful 3 hours with WOW Tours guide, Sean Jendlin, who was engaging and knew his way around Amsterdam's historic city center. Sean gave us not only the historical facts but provided helpful context and entertained us with stories, both important and trivial (and humorous), all along the way. We learned why "WOW" Tours is aka the a... More

Our group loved this tour, Terry our guide is a natural story teller. He showed us parts of Amsterdam that we would never have discovered without him and his inside knowledge brought the city alive, the only disappointing part of this tour was when it ended. Terry even gave us directions to last wooden pub in Amsterdam which turned out... More

Loved the tour! Terry was excellent! We didn't want the tour to end. Highly recommend if you want an informative, engaging and concise tour of Amsterdam. A little over three hours and Terry was generous with his time. Would definitely do again.

We took a Walking tour with Terry O'Leary our guide and owner of Wow Tours. We were only 4 people in total on that day and Terry was amazing in terms of information provided, professionalism, attentiveness and humor. We visited a lot of places including the Rembrandt's Guild, Begijnhof courtyard with its hidden church, the Amsterdam Museum, red light district,... More

Terry was great! He helped us get to the port and check our bags, then led us of on a walking tour of Amsterdam. Very informative, knowledgeable, with a good dose of humor. Excellent customer service and happy to build the tour around our time and interests. This is a great way to spend the day between landing at the... More

Terry O'Leary, Owner/Main Guide, will give you the most wonderful walking tour of Amsterdam! If you want a knowledgable, well informed but humorous guide - Terry knows it all and makes it fun to see Amsterdam at a delightful pace!

Terry gave us an excellent tour! Everything was very interesting. He obviously knows a lot, but was able to relate such information in an engaging manner. Conditions were not ideal. It rained throughout the afternoon, but he remained upbeat and positive, and recognizing that we were tired of wandering through the rain, he added some indoor stops. One of our... More

I've been on more than 12 walking tours in New York and London and the Amsterdam Walking Tour with Terry was by far the best!!! A guide can really make or break the experience and in this case, Terry nailed it. Not only extremely knowledgeable, Terry was clear, loud and funny in his delivery of an engaging story woven from... I have to say this was one of the most informative, funny and interesting walking tours I have taken. The guide is very friendly, open for conversation and questions and knows so much about the city of Amsterdam that you just can't find in any book guide. It lasted for a little bit over three hours including a coffee break,... More

"A bit of the Irish" A delightful tour in spite of the rain. This tour was full of history, currents facts and architectural details. One of the best city tours we have taken. A 5 star experience. L Q

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
