The library itself is cool to see, but maybe not much of a reason to stop on its own. However, if you are in the area anyways around lunch, it has a nice restaurant on the top story with an excellent view, and that makes...More

We had about an hour to spend between dinner & our tour of the Anne Frank Haus, so going to the Openbare Bibliotheek was a perfect choice. We enjoyed a coffee while perusing the wide variety of magazines. Even for us non-Dutch speakers, we could...More

Inspiring modern building with a restaurant terrace on the top floor giving expansive views south over the city - with landmarks picked out/explained. Free entry and the food is great too!

Very interesting architecture and library organization. Also, going to the top floor and take only fly more, you'll be rewarded with an amazing view over the city.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
