Only in Amsterdam would you get walk up and go Ferries that run this frequently and for most of the day. Just walk up and get on the next one. Take your bike or moped with you. A free tour of sorts and really cool.

Very easy way to get around town. I was staying at ClinkNOORD hostel and used this ferry consistently to travel back and forth to Centraal. Extremely reliable and I never had to wait more than 3 minutes to board the ferry.

Take the free ferry from the back of the central station. There are actually three or four different lines. We explored two different places. You can actually spent a whole day exploring the ferry routes. The actual time on the ferry is only 5-14 minutes,...More

If you have some time, this is a great free activity. We went on one ferry and then walked a little way and took a different one back. It was a short enjoyable activity.
