As I live in Alkmaar it might be a little chauvinistic view of this tour. But anyhow we have done it several times with family members and friends. It is an open boat, but that makes it all the better. You are more close to...More

The canal tour is a fun way to see the city center, buildings of interest and the big and smaller canals. Commentary is provided in different languages. Especially nice to do on a warm day (as it is an open boat without roof or cover)....More

This (no roof) boat goes in the canals around the old part of the city, it is very interesting and fun! There are several low bridges (from the middle age!) and you must go down with your head. Very interesting and cool to do!

It's another view from Alkmaar. Seeing all the old houses (anno 1600) and churches from the water is so different and lovely. Alkmaar is such a lovely town with so much to do and see.

Very pleasurable and informative. We were lucky. Sun was shining bright. It's an open boat, so sunny weather adds to the pleasure. Alkmaar has many canals. A canal boat tour is thus a great way to see the many merchant houses and bridges from the...More

I can recommend this atraction to anyone visiting the lovely old town of Alkmaar, the boat takes you through the old cananls and under bridges, it take about 1 hour and is well worth doing.

Very interesting guided tour of Alkmaar from the canals, made more adventurous due to the very low bridges.
