Breda's Begijnhof is a pretty well preserved historical courtyard. With a good imagination you can see how people have lift for centuries, once you step through the gates. If you like walking around cities and discover places, Begijnhof is one of such place. Lover of historical places and wondering around a unknown city, the Begijnhof gave me a pleasant suprise.... Hidden away in the middle of the city lies this historic place. It is very impressive to be in a place which hasn't changed much over its hunderds of years of history

A peaceful garden surrounded bi old brick buildings, with an elegant chapel. On the edge of the historical centre.

This Begijnhof is a beautiful quiet piece of the city. Small houses around the courtyard and little plots of gardening for the people that live there. Go check it out, but be quiet, because people actually live here.

WoW, the silene and the very quiet atmosphere in the center of Breda is unbelievable! It feels like you are back in the middle-ages, although the small houses are stil in use by bachelors.

I asked my hotel front desk of a nice place to walk in Breda and was told the Begijnhof Museum was quiet and peaceful, but work seeing. How right they were. A former convent, it is now beautifully kept with wonderful garden walk. The residents take immaculate care of the grounds and are very friendly toward the visiting strangers.

Very small yet calm place. I have lived here in the city for years and never once found it to be crowded. It is minutes away from the city center. Easy walking distance. If you happen to be in the big park then do please go in and have a look it is right around the corner. A really a... More

This place is great to walk around in, sit and bring a book, or take a look into the chapel. The museum is inexpensive as well if you want to learn more about the Begijnhof.
